Ron Paul endorses Don Young! Story here.

Yet another entry in the long list of Ron Paul contradictions.

His reasoning is great: "Don has been an outspoken voice against environmental extremists over the years and has strongly opposed the types of federal regulatory overreach advocated in the name of environmentalism."

Logic:  Don Young does stuff that pisses off environmentalists.  Environmentalists are pro-regulation.  Being anti-regulation is a small-government position.  Don Young is for small government.

Good going, Ron Paul. Hopefully no fanatics in Alaska hear about this endorsement.

Amusingly, Tom Udall's son-in-law has been named NM elections director.  This should make things even more interesting, as usual.

This thread needs a bump.

Tom Feeney released an ad where he talks to the camera and apologizes for his Abramoff trip, asking for forgiveness and a second chance. That's a sign of danger. Rothenburg has moved FL-24 to pure toss-up. I think there's something going on there that's been missed here so far.

The DCCC has reserved $840k in ads for Leonard David Boswell in KY-02, starting this weekend. Wow.

I think spending on the race is fine, but my general opinion is that the DCCC is spreading its resources too widely, which will become more apparent in mid-October.  JMO

I expect disagreement on this front.

AL-05 update:
Did Democrat Parker Griffith harm cancer patients by cutting his patients' medicine levels to extend their recovery times in order to earn him more money? If proven true, this could be a game-changing scandal.

Griffith losing his hospital privileges for sub-optimal practices, and his frivilous lawsuit being tossed out in a hail of criticism from the judge is bad enough as it is.

Movement in NM-2.

Cook Political Report moved it to a toss-up.

Research 2000 for Daily Kos. 9/30-10/01. Likely voters. MoE  5%
Teague (D) 47
Tinsley (R) 43

Not surprised.  It's been like that for a while according to NM politicos.  Question is the late undecideds...

Teague actually leading? Wow. (Well, it's only one poll but...) Complete Control of the Border for Democrats, here we come! (Unless Giffords goes down. Now that would be ironic would it?)

Teague's been leading all summer if you read the NM politicos.  They still consider the race Lean R, however, because of where the race should go...

No polls.  Just inside campaign talk.  I try to keep up with the NM political blogs.

WI-08: Rep. Kagen won the NRA's endorsement. This is a huge get for a frosh Democrat running in a traditionally Republican district.

Lynn Jenkins (KS-02) raised $640,000 last quarter.  Quite impressive.

Jerry McNerney gets endorsed by opponent's hometown newspaper.  Also quite impressive.
