Me too.  Let's do some simple math.

Kerry=Dukakis
Edwards=Clinton

Dean=Dukakis.  Shrimpy, whiny New England center-left governor.  Do we need to draw any other comparisons?

Kerry has a lot that Dukakis doesn't.  Military experience.  Physical presence.  Of course, this doesn't change the fact that he's a northen liberal with no chance of winning.  But I don't see the connection to Dukakis.  Maybe something more like this:

Dean=Dukakis
Kerry=JFK
Edwards=Clinton
Bush=LBJ

Hmmm.  Three of my least favorite presidents on that list.  Maybe I'll sit this one out...

Dean is McGovern, a straight-talking liberal that would lose big in the general.

JFK was charaismatic, good-llooking, young, and had little baggage, while Kerry is a bore, is ugly, old, and with huge baggage.

Dukakis was a liberal from Mass with a liberal record.  Kerry=Dukakis.

Edwards is a southern, handsome, young moderate, as was Clinton.

Bush to LBJ is a good comparison, tw cowboys with no busimess being president.

So:

Kerry=Dukakis
Dean=McGovern
Edwards=Clinton
Bush=LBJ.

Reagan pumped money into the military in order to make newer weapons and scare the hell out of the communists and the Soviet Union....Bush is doing the same thing....except he does a bit more than PUMP....he uses military action to scare terrorists.

And probably the main similarity between the two....is that Reagan didn't care if people LIKED him...just as long as they respected him. Bush is pretty much the same way.

Those are only two similarites.....but I think you can more easily compare Bush to Reagan...than you can Bush to his father.

Comparing Bush to Johnson is ridiculous, the only similarity is that they are both from Texas. Johnson was a Washington insider, Senate Majority leader, great at compromising and producing a consensus.

Yeah I was going to say Reagan but he doesn't have the charisma of Reagan... And he's nothing like LBJ to me he's kind of his own man so George W. is George W. to me he's not like anyone else.

True, but Johnson was tricked into Vietnam because of the Gulf of Tonkin. He didn't do a good job I agree, but I think he did about the best he could given the circumstances. He should have been more open with the public about it, though. The lack of communication was his downfall there.

Plus, I strongly support the Great Society. LBJ signed the Civil Rights Act and the creation of Medicare. The good he did greatly outweighs Vietnam.

The economy was pretty strong while he was in office, too, and he didn't run up big deficits in doing it.
