I didn't read this post but it seems funny from a distance:

Media Myth (Bold face lie): "Palin said Iraq was a task from God." OH NOES!!!1111 SHEZ A CRUZADERZ@!121111

Fact: Palin actually said: "Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders are sending them out on a task that is from God. That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God's plan."

Media Myth: Palin banned books!!! OH NOES1!1!!!1 SHEZ A BOOKZ BURNERZ!!!11!43123

Fact (From the Anchorage Daily News): "Back in 1996, when she first became mayor, Sarah Palin asked the city librarian if she would be all right with censoring library books should she be asked to do so. According to news coverage at the time, the librarian said she would definitely not be all right with it. A few months later, the librarian, Mary Ellen Emmons, got a letter from Palin telling her she was going to be fired. The censorship issue was not mentioned as a reason for the firing. The letter just said the new mayor felt Emmons didn’t fully support her and had to go. Emmons had been city librarian for seven years and was well liked. After a wave of public support for her, Palin relented and let Emmons keep her job. It all happened 12 years ago and the controversy long ago disappeared into musty files. Until this week. Under intense national scrutiny, the issue has returned to dog her. It has been mentioned in news stories in Time Magazine and The New York Times and is spreading like a virus through the blogosphere. The stories are all suggestive, but facts are hard to come by. Did Palin actually ban books at the Wasilla Public Library? …Were any books censored banned? June Pinell-Stephens, chairwoman of the Alaska Library Association’s Intellectual Freedom Committee since 1984, checked her files Wednesday and came up empty-handed.    Pinell-Stephens also had no record of any phone conversations with Emmons about the issue back then. Emmons was president of the Alaska Library Association at the time."

Media Myth: "Palin was a member of the AIP." OH NOES!!11!!!! SHEZ A CONFEDERATEZ!!11!!!1

Fact: Palin was never a member of the AIP. She once recorded a polite video addressing their convention which emphasized POLITICAL COMPETITION, as in she was a member of a competing political party.

Media Myth: "Palin cut special needs funding." OH NOES11!!1!1 SHEZ HEARTLESS HIPOCRITZ!!!

Fact: Palin RAISED special needs funding 175%

Well, I don't want my wit to go unnoticed and I spent a couple minutes working on this post:

ACORN middlemanship?  Obama trained ACORN operatives in community organizing.  He ran a voter project for ACORN in 1992.  He was a lawyer for Acorn.  He took money from ACORN in his election campaigns.  He ran for State Senate on a socialist party line that has ties to ACORN.  He gave campaign funds to ACORN.  He directed Illinois funds to ACORN.  He and his Democrat compatriots tried to divert bailout funds to ACORN.

Barack Obama is the Senator for ACORN.  Not some middleman.

You know, your constant insistence on contorting situations to fit the most GOP-favorable light is really squandering your intelligence and usefulness as a high-information poster.  Thing is, I actually know enough about ACORN's involvement in the Chicago (and, yes, I've read the Malkin/HumanEvents series too) to not just accept this at face value, as I've pretty much learned I can't do with you.  And that's a shame.

Anyway, talking points appreciated, but I was talking specifically of ACORN'S involvement in the educational services that Torie was talking about, and what sort of curriculum was involved.

Conflict of interest?  Discuss.

Oh it is, that's why it has its own acronym Smiley

Still, for people who want to buy influence, it might not be surprising that they are giving more and more money to the Democrats.

Looking forward to the 20th when we get all of the details.

The question is, how much money did people give (and why isn't Obama telling us)?

The GOP announces $66 M and the Obama campaign/DNC even announces $70 M it doesn't change the dynamics too much, so why not say so?  It will only be it they can raise more than $100 M that they have a shot at rough parity. Even then Bush out raised Clinton in the last months, and still lost.

Question: What impact could the Colin Powell's endorsement have?

It might hurt Obama with some supporters.

Is it just me, or is CARL's obsession with me getting a little creepy?

Facts mean nothing to Lunar and his ilk.

All he can engage in is name calling.

Alcon trying to defend the possible non-existence of the all-powerful Bradley Effect and that a 3 day tracker is the same as a 3 day poll over the same period:

Ben, surely there must be some, ah, more interesting and amusing way of fulfilling your S and M fantasies than this.......

These are obviously very adept polar bears, I'm pretty sure they can figure  out that dilemma.

I just realized that that polar bear on the left really has his nuts sticking out, I hope that doesn't break any forum rules Wink
