When will he announce? It has to come this upcoming week.

He's definitely not announcing it during next weekend. I'd say there's about a 10% chance of it being done Friday but I included that day anyway.

Monday or Tuesday makes the most sense with the Olympics schedule.

I say Monday afternoon.  It's traditional, logical, and "feels right" to announce exactly one week before the convention.

Sounds right to me.

According to Ambinder, Obama has a "mysterious schedule gap" on Wednesday:

I've always tried to google to find Obama's schedule overall.  Anyone know how one could find that?

Virginia, if indeed that is the place, could mean a few different things.  Remember that that appearance with Evan Bayh in Elkhorn was mysterious as well.

To clarify, the "mysterious schedule gap" is on Wednesday.  It hasn't been announced where Obama will be that day.  It's Thursday when he'll be in Richmond.

I wouldn't be shocked if he waited until the convention at this point.

If Obama announces next week, when will McCain announce? He could wait until a day before the convention in order to dampen the effect of the Dem convention further, or he could announce the day after Obama to dampen the effect of the Obama announcement.

He'll announce on monday, through the text messaging thing and a quick afternoon speech. Wednesday will be a suprise event with Obama and his VP choice together.

Well, that's my guess anyway.
