The peas are fine. Fried okra is nasty- and my school had the annoying habit of making them a side to practically ever school lunch ever.

i too went to school in the south. we seemed to have fried okra every damn day. ive never cared much for it.
i also remember my mom cooking up collard greens, which i ate with vinegar. probably the nastiest crap ever, but as a young peckerwood i ate it with a smile on my face and asked for seconds. nowadays young twerps are eating mac and cheese from the microwave, tater tots and fun nuggets. not me. i had collard greens and pintos.
i dont eat much greens these days. i do sometimes put some uncooked mustard greens in my salad.
