Home States of the Candidates

This is just a thread to make people aware of which state each candidate is from. Red is for the Democrats (Dark red is the Presidential candidate and light red is the Vice Presidential candidate.) And Blue is for the Republicans. (Dark blue for the Presidential candidate and light blue for the Vice Presidential candidate.)

You may also discuss what chances each candidate has with their own home state. How much of a percentage they will win it by and so on.

I made my map to resemble Dave's Home State maps.

You have the best chance......and Supersoulty and I are about even in our chances of winning our home states.....and Harry is least likely to win his home state of Mississippi.

I figured that Illinois and Pennsylvania are NEARLY the same. Since Pennsylvania has voted the same way Illinois has since 1980 in Presidential elections. And both states elected a new Democratic governor in 2002 after having had Republican Governors. But still, you're probably right...Supersoulty would have a little bit better of a chance than I would.

But I tell ya one thing...I still have a MUCH better chance of winning IL than Harry does at winning MS.

Maybe I only mention this because I'm tired..and there's nothing else to do...........but I just noticed....that Nym90 and I are the only ones...whose states border each other.

I don't know about MUCH better . . . we both live in strongholds of the other party.  I know we've elected Democrats to governorships and Dems control both houses of the state legislature.  With Nym90 not being a crazy liberal, I would have a decent shot, say a 55% chance of winning the state.  By campaigning there along with TN, AR, and LA, bump that up even higher.

I noticed that a long time ago...

The interesting thing is that the Republican ticket contains no one from the South or West. When was the last time that happened? It ahsn't happened since WWII, that's for sure.

Nym90 is the only one who can be 100% certain of winning hos home state. Supersoulty can be very sure as well. The 2 others are more of tossups, but I think home state advantage works better in smaller states than larger ones.

Illinois has voted Republican from 1968 to 1988. Only recently has it started voting Democratic from 1992-present.

Mississippi, on the other hand, has voted Republican in EVERY election since 1972....except the 1976 election...and that was barely 50%.
