Without being too lengthy and without being too partisan, please indicate which Senators, in your view, should go as soon as possible, meaning, which Senators should no longer be members of the U.S. Senate?

You can feel free to give reasons if you wish, but just names if you like.

One of the people that obviously doesn't belong or even want to be there - Robert Patrick Casey, Jr.

The Republican ones and Leibermann.

But Opebo, then you would have a single party controlling the Senate with no one to voice the opposing viewpoint.

What good would that do?

We currently have no one voicing the left-wing viewpoint, Winfield, and things are just trundling along anyway.

I don't think he needs to be on anyone's list, considering his health problems.

He's not a Democrat. He's also a FF that should remain in the Senate as long as possible.

Opebo's answer seems reasonable. Plus some of the horrible Democrats (Bayh, Nelson, etc.)

Bunning and Lautenberg for starters. Other Republicans who should be out will be out in 2008, some other Dems, but I'm way too lazy to list

while i find bunning's politics repulsive, the man is comic relief.

his opponent looked like one of saddam's boys.  hilarious!

Democrats:
Robert Byrd (WV)--too old
Frank Lautenberg (NJ)--too old
Daniel Inouye (HI)--too old
Daniel Akaka (HI)--too old
Ted Kennedy (MA)--too old, ill health
Barack Obama (IL)--for the White House

Independent:
Joe Lieberman (CT)--I'm tired of his being a thorn in our sides.

Republicans:
Ted Stevens (AK)--too old, corrupt
John Warner (VA)--too old
Arlen Specter (PA)--too old, ill health
Jim Bunning (KY)--too old, senile
Pete Domenici (NM)--too old, ill health
Robert Bennett (UT)--old, I'm ready for new representation
Orrin Hatch (UT)--old I'm ready for new representation
Jim Inhofe (OK)--old, crazy
Saxby Chambliss (GA)--disgusting
Larry Craig (ID)--disgusting
Tom Coburn (OK)--irritating
David Vitter (LA)--disgusting

There is also a large group in their 70's, who are starting to toe their expiration date--Lugar, Feinstein, Grassley, Shelby, Levin, Kohl, Roberts, Voinovich, Mikulski, Dole, McCain, Rockefeller, Cochran.  There are many distinguised careers in the lot of the aged senators, but I think there comes an age when people should step aside, and enjoy their golden years.

Democrats: Now that John Breaux is gone, none that I can think of. I don't think Bob Menendez was a good choice, but better him than that fat slob Chris Christie. (Byrd is still there lol)

Republicans:

ASAP:
Tom Coburn and James Inhofe
Creme de Menthe (SC) and Lindsey Graham
Jeff Sessions

Also:

Joe Lieberman
Saxby Chambliss
Trent Lott
Jim Bunning
John Thune
Sam Brokeback (KS)
John Cornyn
John Kyl
Ted Stevens and Lisa Murkowski
John Sununu Jr. and Judd Gregg

I hope Collins loses in November, but she isn't a bad Senator.
