I'll say it louder: Bill Richardson!
1. Executive experience as governor
2. Federal government experience as a cabinet official
3. HUGE foreign policy and U.N. credentials
4. Obama needs serious help with the Latino vote
5. Kerry states plus Iowa + Colorado + New Mexico = White House.
6. Richardson will bolster Obama's Western strength in general.
He would be a very, very solid choice.
Unless he has received some serious coaching since the primaries, he would make a truly abysmal choice. Resume-wise, I agree completely. It's loaded. But if you saw his performance in the debates, heard him on the stump or saw him interviewed during the campaign, he was just plain embarassing. He made Wes Clark's horrible 2004 effort look credible. And Richardson kept referring to Russia as "The Soviet Union".
I don't think any of this would necessarily make him a lousy VP. But before he enters the office, he has to campaign. And his campaign for President was hideous.
