Beet, your signature is incorrect in saying Hawaii has no private beaches.

Nope. It is against the law in Hawaii to bar public access to any part of the coastline (except in federal lands such as military bases where state law has no jurisdiction).

Proof?

My fricken god you people will believe made up sh**t about muslims but not the Associated Press. Here is something written before this controversy so it could not be part of some liberal conspiracy:

Amazingly Hawaii also retains title to beaches on a state park.

This would be about the only way where I would consider not voting for McCain.

There is probably one other exception to that rule, that being the coastal parts of Kalawao County. State law prohibits anyone under 16 from visiting there. Of course it's very isolated, virtually inaccessible already, and not a private beach either.

It should be one of the R's, Romney or Ridge.  I'm personally pulling for Ridge.

I think I would still vote for him, but I would not be happy about it.

Jindal on the other hand would make me not vote for McCain.

Romney is a far far more honorable and respectable person than McCain.

I don't trust anything I read on the internet - it's all a scam by Al Gore... that's the whole reason he invented it.

What's interesting about Obama possibly choosing Biden and McCain possibly choosing Romney is that usually someone doesn't choose someone they just ran against in the primary. Yeah, there's Edwards 2004 and Bush 1980, but that's it for the modern primary system. Some other examples are Johnson 1960, Garner 1932.

I really hope it's Romney. He's a far more interesting and entertaining character than Pawlenty is and would undoubtedly give us countless classic Winfield posts. I think a VP debate between Romney and Biden would be very entertaining, especially if they went after one another attack-dog style.

Yeah, I tend to agree. I think that debate would be far more brutal and interesting than the presidential debates in many ways.

Not to mention Chris Dodd and Bill Richardson and on the Republican side TOM TANCREDO!!!!!

Hey, at least a Biden/Romney Vice Presidential Debate wouldn't have John McCain frequently mentioning "my friends", nor Barack Obama frequently mentioning "change". Not to mention with such a Biden/Romney debate we could potentially see Joe Biden get pissed off and become an arrogant f**ker. Now don't tell me that isn't cool Wink.

Ah yes, because of his staunch views on illegal immigration. Haha Jim Gilmore, isn't that guy trying to oust Mark Warner for John Warner's Senate seat in Virginia this November? If he is, what a poor bastard. He had to abandon his dreams of becoming President, and now he'll get flogged against Warner.

I just love how the Democrats will have two guys who grew up in working class American families while the Republicans will be the sons of privilage(As usual).  After all McCain's father and grandfather were both U.S. Admirals and Williard's papa was a Governor of a major U.S. state.  I doubt either of them had to work for anything on their own really. (I know some people are going to get on me about McCain's POW service but I am not deriding it, I am simply saying that to get by in life he did'nt need to pay his own way through anything.)

Romney would be worse. At least Palin doesn't have a Southpark episode mocking her religion (unless she's a scientologist)
