Sen. King wanted to see what the results of such a poll would be, so go go go.

Absolutely.  There is no reason to have cigarettes and alcohol legal and available and to not do the same thing for marijuana.  It should be regulated and sold just like cigarettes.

I can't seem to think of good legislation for this. Could the AFLP and ACLU help me?

*Puts ACLU Chairman vest.*
Well, it's simple. You just have to amment the criminal code(assuming there is one), to take all references to marijuana out of it. If criminal law is totally common law here, just pass an act saying that the sale, possession or consumtion of Marijuana is not punishable by the courts. And add a provision for the punishment of someone who drives under the influence of it, tough.
But the ACLU recomends the extension of this measure to harsher drugs.

I would basically take the current laws for consumption of alcohol such as drunk driving and substitute alcohol with marijuana. Alcohol is just as much of a drug as weed is, so we should treat them equally.
