One would assume that he would. Danforth would have made an excellent President, from what I know about the former Senator from Missouri. Judging from his Wikipedia article, Senator Danforth seems like my kind of Republican. Oh yeah.

Not far off being the least surprising news of the year.

Is he in the press?

I know he's part of Whitman's new group Republican Leadership Council.

danforth is a very loyal republican and a good man.

the only two high profile republicans supporting obama are leach and chafee.  they are just bitter that they lost reelection and blame the republican party, the bush administration in particular for their defeat, instead of themselves for being piss-poor candidates.

Is the Mayor of Fairbanks a bitter person who lost reelection?

Piss-poor Republican candidates don't hold districts like Leach's (former) one for as long as he did.

Not far off being the least surprising news of the year.

Years ago they asked John Danforth why he chose to join the Republican Party. His reply: "For the same reason you sometimes choose which movie to see. [It's] the one with the shortest line."

I'm sort of surprised Obama went with Biden instead of Danforth.

Do you even know his name without looking it up?

Jim Leach is not even exactly "high-profile."

Isn't it Whitewater or whitetaker or something like that?

Not a good example since HardR actually follows Congressional races.  Tongue
