Yeah..we'll have to be content with the fact that we'll live longer...and see more presidential elections! Smiley

If u're that interested in elections (and i think u are) i can even send u the results of mi local one in October, but i think that will be not much competitive (even when are the only one with PR here) --> kidding

Which country do you live in, I don't remember if you said that, sorry if you have?

Chile, and no i didn't.

Ah, I have a friend who's dad fled from Chile. It would be nice if you could keep us updated on the events there, we try to do that with our home countries. Smiley

I love this game!  I forked over the cash to my dad, and it's excellent!  it's also cool how easy you can make your own scenarios... I made a 'Fair' scenario if anyone is interested...

Hmmm, how are scenarios made?  I'd a least like 1912 and 1860 scenarios

You'd have to go in and make it yourself  byreprograming a few files... At least thats what I did and now I have a scenario called "Free For All" and all the parties are on equal footing.

The problem with 1912 and 1860 is you'd have to get rid of a bunch of states... I'd just wait until they release a version that lets you do that.

You just might be able to... I'm thinking if you go into electoral trends and region varibles and delete all the states that were not there during those elections it could work

Okay this is what I do go to

My computer>Whatever drive you have the game in>Program Files>President Forever>Scenarios

Then right click the 2004 scenario and paste on to your desk top then go into that file and then open the Electoral_Trends(or any files like it) with wordpad(NOTE DO NOT OPEN WITH MICROSOFT WORD ONLY WORDPAD!) then from there its kind of self explainatory.

I won my 1st President 4 ever. With Kerry/Edwars against Bush/Cheney. 350/188 with 52%. I won even Colorado... this game isn't reallistic.

Winning CO isn't that unrealistic...it isn't as Republican as people think. What other states did you win?

The game IS unrealistic. Candidates tend to win certain states with massive majorities of the vote. 70%+ for one candidate is not rare, even in close elections. The 1960, 1980 and 1992 patches are out now. 1960 starts out with a huge Nixon lead and 1980 starts out with Carter almost stronger than Reagan.

I played 1980 with a third party candidate centered around New York and won 73 electoral votes (NY, CT, NJ, ME and AK), Reagan at 258, Carter 207. Then it said "the election is a tie. So it will be decided by Congress. Congress is dominated by Republicans... so Congress appoints Ronald Reagan next President of the United States!!!"

Of course it wasn't a tie but the game does this every time no candidate gets over 270. And since Congress wasn't dominated by Republicans in 1980 this is clearly a glitch left over from the pre-scenario version. Finally, in Congress every state gets only 1 vote, so the candidate with the most states wins the election, not necessarily the candidate whose party has a majority in Congress.

To make it even more realistic, in a situation like my game, I should have been able to tell my electors to vote for a certain candidate.

I've had the game for a few months, I won a few times as Bush VS. Clark, and I won Reagan VS Carter. I was the GOP player of course. They should bring three more elections out: 1920, 1976, and 1988.

I'd say 1860, 1892, 1912, and 1948.

That doesn't sound very cool...that's how it would have played out in realife. I'd try and change history! Smiley
