Palin's daughter should get an abortion, and no one should be having children at age 17 (or younger). However, the fundamentalist mother will not allow her to do that.

Freakonomics suggested that abortion reduces violent crime because it reduces the number of single mothers with "unwanted" children. Freedomnomics by John R Lott Jr shows that in actual fact, abortion increases the number of children born into households because it creates a greater acceptance of extra-marital sex that means that some women who would never have an abortion end up falling pregnant. Your attitude validates this theory.

I don't see it as a big deal though. Naming your daughter "Mary" is naming her after a biblical figure after all.

LOL, I was being facetious on that point. However, I do know that many fundamentalists give their children Bible names (it surely must be a higher proportion than the non-Christian population of the US). I, personally, got stuck with one.

My name is an anglicized version of a Biblical name. One of my brothers is directly lifted from the Bible. I doubt my parents were even thinking about the Bible when they named us, nor were the millions of other parents giving their kids the same names we have (Zachary and Matthew for the record.)
