The first game was a relative success and quite active for some time, but sadly fell apart due to the lack of structure. So, I've decided to try this again.

Basic Rules and Structure

You may create only two airlines. The most successful players will be allowed to a third if they wish after three weeks of gameplay.

Your airline(s) start off with 10 planes of any year, any make, and you have a maximum of 8 destinations (these may be all domestic, all international, or a mix of both). You may add five new domestic destinations per week, or three new international destinations, or two domestic and one international.

Two or more airlines may create alliances at any time, and they may merge alliances at any time. Two or more airlines can also negotiate code-share routes at any time, but may create only one new code-share route per week. These alliance negotiations may be held in private (through PM) or in public, for everyone's eyes.

Be realistic and play slowly. Don't use your ATR-72s to fly Singapore-Los Angeles. Don't create a regional-based airline that expands up to long-haul international the next week. Have your airlines have objectives: for example, create an airline that aims to be a top regional carrier in this specific area.

I will not be roleplaying an airline in this game. I'll act as a general GM to keep things under control and post flight reviews, airline achievement data and so forth.

Question:  How fast can airplanes be added?

Airline Name:ZephAyr
Three Letter: ZYR
Country - United States
Hub(s): Philadelphia, Charlotte
Name of Manager: Ernest Curtiss

Fleet: 2 Boeing 737-800, 8 Boeing 737-700

Destinations: Boston, Chicago (Midway), Richmond, Atlanta, Orlando, New Orleans, Memphis, New York (La Guardia)

Comments: The 737-800's are used for the main trunk flight connecting the two hubs.

Objective: To become the primary domestic passenger airline for medium-sized cities east of the Mississippi

Future expansion plans: Add additional cities in the United States, primarily east of the Mississippi so as have a dense network employing the Boeing 737 series of planes. (And the 777 later if needed for high capacity routes.)

Airline Name:ZephAyr Calypso
Three Letter: ZYC
Country - United States
Hub(s): Charlotte, Miami
Name of Manager: Ernesto Castro
Fleet: 2 Boeing 737-800, 8 Boeing 737-700

Destinations: Bermuda, Nassau (Bahamas), San Juan, Aguadilla (Puerto Rico), Charlotte Amalie (St. Thomas, USVI), Christianstaf (St. Croix, USVI), Kingston (Jamaica), George Town (Caymans)

Comments: The 737-800's are used for the main trunk flight connecting the two hubs.   Intended mainly as a tourist airline. Charlotte hub serves mainly to connect the Miami hub with the ZephAyr route network, but some international flights depart directly from there.

Objective:  Become the primary airline taking American tourists to holiday destinations in the Caribbean and beyond.

Future expansion plans: Add additional destinations in the Caribbean and Central America, adding additional U.S. mainland hubs as needed.  Possible hub at Aguadilla should inter-island routes be added.  Acquire resorts to help fill the planes.

Airline name: Starlight Airlines
Callsign: STR
Country: United States
Hub: Las Vegas
Name of Manager: James McCarran

Fleet: 10x Boeing 737-800 (configured to fly 153 passengers in good comfort).

Purpose/Objective: to be a fairly nice airline, based in the Southwest (mostly Vegas). Notable for cheerful, friendly female flight attendants who wear miniskirts, as well as good food (the longer flights, like from Chicago, have actual meals, and the snack packs on shorter flights aren't just peanuts), clean lavatories, and a bit of 50s kitsch. Not a budget airline, but not intended to be ultra-expensive either. Everyone flies in semi-business-class - no first class seats, but 36 fewer than an all-coach layout and the seats themselves are fairly plush. The goal is to appeal to people who want to vacation with a bit of luxury and style when heading on vacation, but aren't ultra-rich.

Destinations/Routes:
Between Las Vegas and...
- Los Angeles (LAX)
- Phoenix
- Denver
- Chicago-O'Hare
- Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW)
- Houston
- Seattle

Also, a DFW-Phoenix direct flight

Expansion plans: looking to extend service between Vegas and more cities, including those on the East Coast. Perhaps a few more routes into Phoenix and DFW.  A partnership with an international airline would be nice, as its unlikely Starlight will ever expand outside of North America (is Trans-Atlantic Airways receptive? We both fly to O'Hare).
------------------------------------------------------------------------

I may add a second airline later.

Airline Name: NationAir
three letter: NAR
Country: United States
Hubs: Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, Indianapolis International Airport
Focus City: Cancun International Airport.
Fleet: All 737's
Objective: Hopefully soon to be a major airline. Both classes have a TV on the back of the seat in front of them, letting them choose between 5 movies on flights more than 3 hours. First class seats (12) are at the front, the remainder being coach. Tries to be perfect for both leisure and business travelers.

Note on destinations: Nonstops from all 3 hubs. Direct flights to Cancun from everywhere, through New Orleans.

DESTINATIONS:
San Francisco, Los Angeles, Albuquerque, Denver, Philedelphia, Chicago (O'Hare), Phoenix, Orlando, New York City (LaGuardia), Washington (Reagan)
