Not really, save for a five-point disagreement with Rasmussen last time around, they've been pretty steady.

McCain is not up 31 points in Eastern Washington, and if he's near that, he's not up that much in non-metro Western Washington.  I doubt the race is this close, but ouch for Obama either way.  He's collapsed among voters without a college education.

I know better than to hold my breath, but if McCain actually won Washington, I would be dancing in the streets for four years.

Hmmm, maybe Oregon is going to come home to me after all. Smiley  I always thought that state was the uber sleeper, with NH being the sleeper.

What does this poll have to do with Oregon?

WA and OR generally track together, with OR a few points to the right.  Especially if Obama's lost is among the less-educated, Oregon would be like tied now.

I don't buy this, naturally.

A swing is not going to happen, unless McCain wins big.

Must be the Palin effect..

Washington and Alaska would be neighbors except for, well, Canada Smiley

Yup Washington is the gateway to the America for Alaska. Alaska airlines is not based in Alaska but rather in Seattle. A lot of trade goes on between the two states as well. The rural people in WA probably feel a lot of affinity with the people in Alaska. The Palin pick definitely helps here and in OR and MT.

Palin-Rural Washingtonian affinity is a distinct possibility.

Rural Washingtonian-Alaskan affinity, if it exists, has very little to do with our being "border states." Tongue
