Yes, but the Democrats do not deserve to win. They've been just as bad.

Why? He supports the war and supports the tax cuts, two things that are leading our country into a huge financial mess.

Agreed.

Although in fairness Obama's platform as it is now just adds to the debt too.

Well, sure, they always 'deserve' to lose in the sense that their policies harm the majority - thus one would expect them to lose a 'democratic' election.  However in another sense they deserve to win, as they nominate what the masochistic whites like - a rightwing black-hating white male who abuses their economic interests.

I'm just not that comfortable with the idea of 'deserving' or any other 'moral' value, as they're all completely subjective.

Obviously they deserve to lose. You don't frak up the country for 8 years and have the right to come along and say you can fix the problems you yourself caused.

Well, you can, but you look stupid for it.

The difference is that McCain supports cutting spending as well, so we won't have to lay the burden on our kids.

As for the war, it's practically over.  Just a few errands and we'll be out of there.

Why? He supports the war and supports the tax cuts, two things that are leading our country into a huge financial mess.

Do you realize that McCain and Obama now have virtually identical positions on the Bush tax cuts?  Both initially opposed them, and both now favor leaving them in place while in the midst of a possible recession.

With regard to the war, both McCain and Obama "support" the war.  McCain voted for it, sure.  Obama didn't (he was a State Senator at the time)—advantage Obama.  McCain supported a surge, Obama didn't—advantage McCain.

We're in 2008 now, and we need to pick a president based on their plan for the future, not where they were in the past.  Obama hasn't exactly shown a powerful grasp on foreign policy, and I'm much more comfortable with John McCain as Commander in Chief than the idealistic Obama, who wants to withdraw troops and damn the consequence—or maybe he doesn't anymore, since he's not running in a Democratic primary.  Not sure where Obama stands on this one anymore.

Bush deserves to lose, and I won't vote for him!

What Torie said!  McCain equals Bush is simplistic garbage.

Mccain wants to give more obscene tax cuts to the wealthy and I do not think Obama is in favor of that. In addition I just feel democrats are better at the economy than the republicans. See they believe in this fiction that lowering taxes is the solution to all problems while they do nothing to control spending. Democrats might spend just like the republicans but at least they give the money to the people and not corporations( think prescription drug plan).

I voted N(I/O), but mostly because I'm already married.

I'm not sure that I think the republicans deserve to lose any more than the democrats do.

I do think the people deserve what they get.  Especially the 52% that don't vote.

Both the Republicans and Demcorats deserve to lose this year. Every single person in the 110th congress, up for election, deserves to be voted out.

However I'm kind of neutral on if both Obama or McCain deserve to lose though.

Actually mine does.  Unfortunately his main opponent is also a dick.  That's one that I still haven't decided.  Don't respect the incumbent.  Don't like the challenger.  I wonder if that's a common situation.
