Only if they have reasonable proof the person is dangerous, otherwise no.

I'v been profiled at airports several times (my name is 2 parts the same as the leader of Hezbollah) and they mostly asked me questions about why I went to 'x' country or what my major was.

I say low security and no profiling at the airport. For convenience.
Let the people do the profiling. If a suspicious-looking Middle-Eastern guy steps aboard people are going to be watching him the entire time. He'll be lucky if he goes to the bathroom without getting everyone anxious. That social profiling isn't going to go away any time soon.
...Or you could give the pilot a semi-automatic.

Nah,Well I guess I don't mind if we have to put up with it for a few more years, but after that it's time to speed up the process.

I suppose it might be better than pulling aside old ladies and small children 'at random' for baggage checks and skipping over anyone who has a shade of brown that might suggest they are being profiled for fear of offending them.

But profiling isn't a real solution because of the fact that the average competence level of airport security suggests that they receive little more training than mall cops. What we really need is highly trained and highly paid security for airports - people who are trained to know who and what to look for, kind of like the secret service except for airports. Yes, you'll still need some rent-a-cops to handle some of the more mundane tasks like looking at luggage x-rays and manning metal detectors at the main checkpoints, but they won't need to do nearly as much in regards to pulling people aside and questioning and performing meaningless cavity searches just for the hell of it. They'll just take orders from the guys who actually know what the hell they are doing.

Yes - profile whoever the terrorists are, I don't care if I get profiled too - as long as we're safer.
