McCain/McCain, but I doubt Gore picks Lieberman in this scenario.  He needs a populist who can help in the South, which Lieberman couldn't do (except in Florida).

So, with a populist running mate for Gore, I would predict this:



McCain wins 298-240

McCain/McCain, but I doubt Gore picks Lieberman in this scenario.  He needs a populist who can help in the South, which Lieberman couldn't do (except in Florida).

So, with a populist running mate for Gore, I would predict this:



McCain wins 298-240

I agree about Lieberman.  I really doubt Gore wins Tennessee or Arkansas, no matter who his running mate is.

Supposing McCain didn't upset the base by picking Ridge (Ridge swears that, despite his own position, he thinks Roe was a bad legal decision and would, in event of being president, only appoint judges that oppose it), McCain would sweep the floor with Gore.

2000 McCain was simply the model of the center of the American electorate, and had a wonderful brand name.
