I usually like to watch these things alone (I guess that sounds odd...)

not at all.  As has been stated by MODU, and implied by me, it's best.  Modu's a talker, while I'm the guy that is incredibly annoyed by any talking and will tell you to stop whooping, clapping, bitching, hollering, and generally maintain silence.  We'd bug the hell out of each other, I imagine.

Luckily, we have one television per capita in my house, so all of us can watch what we want.

hahaha . . . I can see one of us ending up with a black eye if we were together.  Besides, it's bad enough that my relatives will be calling.  My sis loves to talk politics.  Don't these people know that Friday is HOLY (Sci-Fi)!?!?!?

Oh, man.  When we were growing up, my sister would always say stuff like "watch out!" or "look behind you, dumbass, he's got a gun." when we watched movies.  I hated that.  I never would have thought I'd marry someone who does that.  And when we watch candidates speaking on TV, any candidate for any race, she has all sorts of comments.  Not that the comments aren't valid, but it's annoying.  And comment she must.  Even though she has absolutely no interest in voting and generally doesn't know much about the issues.

I like to watch debates closely and intently with no interruptions.  I think we talked about this before.  There are those who watch PBS coverage, and those who actually prefer the talking heads of CNN, FOX, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, and all the other commercial outlets in the alphabet soup.

I'll watch it on PBS.  And I'll try to watch it alone, with a bottle of booze, the remote, and maybe the laptop if I'm in the mood to remark snidely.  (typed remarks are okay since they're silent)

By myself on YouTube (or iTunes if they offer free podcasts like they did the convention speeches) the next day.

That kind of makes sense, actually. Almost nobody watching gives both McCain and Obama kind of a "trial run" debate before the debates with (what I'm assuming to be) better timeslots.

Who will you watch the first debate with (if anyone)?

Don't know.  But I'll be watching the one with Sarah Palin alone....

That definitely is very weird.....you must be a big loner.

Considering my heavy involvement in politics, no, not really. It's just something about big speeches and debates. I guess I don't love the commentary from others during these things. I like to take it all in and have my own reactions by myself.

by myself on youtube. I still wonder what idiot decided that a Friday night would be a good time for a debate.
Exactly what I said.

I will not be watching it live because I will go out and because no one in my family will ever watch political events with me because I get too excited/never shut up

They're re-airing Thalassa on Sunday, so I might watch the entire debate on Friday.
