They've been married for 25-26 years, but they're currently in the process of separating. I doubt strongly they'll divorce.

My parents made it to 27 years, mostly unhappy, before divorcing. They married a) the wrong people b) at too young an age. Now each one is nearly 15 years into second marriages.

Both my parents are Republicans, FWIW, but not of the social conservative type.

Having a divorce imposed upon her certainly affects my mother's voting habits. She hates Bill Clinton for what he did and Hillary Clinton for putting up with it and staying with him. She hasn't expressed any such views for McCain's divorcing his first wife, though.
