The ad has great music and production values I think. YMMV on the substance. Two issues are more crucial for the future of America than any others. Can you guess what those are before watching the ad?

Punch here.

I'm pretty sure this is a web ad...it's too long to air on TV and contains no VO narration, and many people who watch TV do so while multi-tasking and doing other things at the same time.

I was going to make some comment about how horrible these people are, etc., but then they showed a picture of my school for some reason and I was placated. Smiley

I'm waiting for the non-political pro-life sermons in church.  I'm Greek Orthodox and don't go to church there but go with my wife who is catholic.  They will be campaigning for McCain without campaigning........see it every 4 years.  Mrs. M3 and I are mostly pro-choice so we just Roll Eyes

At least we don't have candidates up on the altar giving us their platform on everything. I can proudly say that our mass doesn't turn into a political rally.

Very true, Phil.  I wasn't implying ours did either.  Since the title of this thread was talking about Catholics I threw in my own observations.

No, they're not rallies that mask as revival meetings.

I wish they would keep it out of all churches, all religions.......but that ain't gonna happen

I think that discussion of issues is something that we can't and shouldn't avoid. It's a reminder of what we stand for. That being said, it isn't a clear endorsement of a slate of candidates. The "endorsement" may be implied but I don't equate that to the campaign rallies held in many other churches.

Do Catholics in this country actually care about defending life from contraception?

This whole video is sure riding the pro-life one-trick pony pretty hard.

It can do without the anti-homosexual thing.

Otherwise, it is fine. Abortion is one of very few issues where I am 'conservative.'

I watched this the other day.

Actually, besides the issues of protecting life and traditional marriage, they did show a kid (right after some pro-life signs) holding a sign that says peace. So it covers 3 issues. Ok, maybe 2.1 issues given there is no other mention in there.

And yet, I sometimes wonder if the authors of the video knew I was voting for Baldwin they would think I was missing the point of the video.

Knights of Columbus are running a an anti-abortion add.

Yeah, radio ads and they ran ad in USA Today over the weekend informing Biden on the Church's position on an issue that he happens to be on the opposite side of.

It's because of how pretentious and over the top it is, especially the line I just bolded.

That reminds me of these lyrics (Note: I actually like this song musically):

Slowly we peel away the layers and the light seeps through the cracks.
You whispered softly in my ear,
"the birth of mornings upon us, dear",
the bandages fell upon the floor.
And there was no one in that room.
It's quiet down the hallway where the doctors wash their hands.
Behind my eyes I feel the hollow jabs of your morphine kiss.
Your anesthetic voice is autographed upon my bones.
This reception died in vein.
In vain.
A tarnished angel leaves her ghost on the surface.
A jealous daughter starves to death for the mother as I awaited your return.
I wait for your return.
It seems the only way that I will ever feel alive.
Throw myself into my injuries and close my eyes.
I'd give anything to feel alive.
And I will wait for you tonight.
This scalpel carves a map for you.

I had him on ignore, but out of curiosity read the post. Then I thought the same thing as you just said and remembered why I had him on ignore in the first place.
