I'm running for reelection against both PiT and Gporter. Questions, comments, and requests can be directed to this thread, though feel free to send me a PM if you wish.

I'll also be posting official campaigny stuff here, so check in from time to time.

Good luck in this race, Bacon King. You have two tough opponents. GPorter offers a real alternative to those who favor genocide.

This means a lot.  I mean you've held so many prominent positions and have quite a high opinion of the region Bacon represents

You are running against two excellent candidates, but you've been a good friend, and supporter of mine for quite some time. It is with that, that I support you for re-election.

As your constitutent, I ask that you vote against Hashemite for SoEA.  I ask all others in the Dirty South who do not wish this traitor to our great region and great nation to represent our region and the country as a whole to the rest of the world to express their concerns as well.

No, thankfully that traitor to our great nation left us, but now Moderate has appointed him to represent our great nation to the rest of the world.

DWTL, I will be voting to approve Hashemite for the SoEA job. By all indications he will perform actively and capably, and someone with his activity in that position is exactly what Atlasia needs. Though I understand you have personal problems with him I don't think his past actions have any relevance to his future duties.

A disgraceful decision. A traitor and a crook just got appointed to a federal position. The Dirty South weeps.

Senator, I ask that you oppose the bill to remove mandatory minimum sentences given the fact that the Dirty South just voted heavily in favor of stricter ones

There is in fact no connection between the current bill in the Senate and the "One Strike Your Out Act" (sic). The Senate bill won't change the regional law, you know, and would only prevent minimum sentences for federal crimes. And, it should be noted, I agree with that bill. It should also be noted that the Southeast's regional law gives life without parole as the only sentence for first-degree murder; that is, it's not a minimum sentence at all. I do agree that should be the only sentence for first-degree murder, and I also feel that minimum sentences (especially in lesser crimes) shouldn't exist and don't always take into account the entirety of the situation. That is where I stand. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

There is no connection, yet the intentions of the bill are in full blown contradiction to the law we just passed.  The people of the Dirty South said unanimously, as your constituency, that they want mandatory minimum sentences, so why then oppose it?

We have two totally seperate things here.

A: A regional law which made the penalty for committing murder in the first degree to be only life without possibility for parole.

B: A federal bill which will remove minimum sentences for federal crimes. It explicitely states to have no effect for crimes with one possible sentence.

The two are not contradictory in the least, and I see your suggestions otherwise to be nothing more than just your usual demagoguery.

Good to see you don't have the interests of the region at heart.  That's alright we can fix that
