Hypothetical Presidential Poll: Paul (R) vs. Obama (D) POLL OPEN through Oct. 6.
http://www.allvoices.com/contributed-news/1411759-ron-paul

I'd like to see ABC/NBC/CBS/FOX et al do this same poll on Paul vs. Obama now that it's apparent Paul knew exactly what he was talking about in regards to the financial crisis back when McCain was grandstanding with his "follow bin Laden to the gates of hell" tough guy talk. Let's see if we can a lot of people - Democrats, Republicans, Independents - to weigh in on this one.

Here's a column by a once and possibly future Ron Paul supporter (me) who sees Obama as a much better choice than McCain:

GOP nominated wrong candidate, making Obama the best choice in November
http://www.allvoices.com/contributed-news/1412049-ron-paul

excerpt from column:
Obama has the potential to be a profoundly effective reformer in the tradition of Franklin D. Roosevelt. Rather than campaigning on the premise that government doesn’t work so no one should expect government to get anything right, Obama knows that government can get things right - like Social Security - when the people who make up that government believe in the integrity of their mission and their ability to carry it out. Lest we forget, Reagan himself was a great admirer of FDR, even going so far as to tell other Republicans not to denigrate Roosevelt in his presence.

In 1932, American needed a man like FDR; in 1980, it needed a man like Reagan. In 2008, it needs a man like Paul or a man like Obama (depending on one's politics) but the last thing it needs is someone unstable, erratic and given to childish whims. The last thing America needs is John McCain in the Oval Office.

At least John McCain won't receive less than 200 Electoral College votes against Barack Obama. If Ron Paul was the Republican nominee in 2008, he'd be lucky even to break the 100 Electoral College mark. Thus, Obama would defeat Paul in a landslide of epic proportions, probably be a margin as seen in Ronnie's EV map.

Alright, I'll play along:

Nearly all the strong/lean designations are off but oh well who cares. Paul would get slaughtered regardless.

The results are in:

1,102 votes

Paul 79 percent (870 votes)
Obama 20 percent (228 votes)
Other 4

A Punditty analysis on what these numbers might mean for The Ron Paul Revolution will follow in a few days.

I'm sure you all can't wait ;-)
