Words that are not meant. Context (and the speaker or author) is all. And mindless slogans and mindless jargon, obviously.

bipartisan

To a Democrat bipartisanship occurs when a Republican abandons his party's position and takes theirs.

If I could ban any word from politics, I would ban a lot of them, however the two I would ban within an instant would be 'Working Families" and "Foreign Policy Experience". Foreign Policy Experience for obvious reasons as all the candidates, whether presidential or vice presidential claim they have it and that does bother me a lot. As for Working Familes, do not get me started on it. Kevin Rudd, whom I dislike very, very, much still continues to use it in political speak even as Prime Minister. And I thought it would end upon his election in November last year Sad

Interesting how often the words people would like to see banned are notable mainly for their use by politicians they don't like or on behalf of causes that they don't like (or both).

More of a 'saying' this one:

'Being a mother...'

I can't stand that phrase. Yes it's tough being a mum/mom, but it doesn't translate to an ability to be good in the political arena. That's like saying all politicians by experience can raise kids.
