You mean she doesn't understand the difference between weather and climate?  Kinda already figured that.

When the sunspot cycle hasn't revved up at all and you've been nearly a year without any major sunspot activity, this is what happens.

Well, if you don't believe a consensus of scientific thought, you may not necessarily be stupid, but you're silly anyway.

As far as Fairbanks goes, global warming doesn't warm every inch of the planet equally or anything silly like that.  It changes climate patterns, so weather in some places gets colder, some warmer, and overall warmer in average around the planet.

Your argument basically boils down to "lulz it's cold in this one spot so obviously global warming isn't real"

This is why "climate change" is a much more accurate term to use than "global warming" - the latter gives the impression that temperatures will rise everywhere when in some places they would go down.. Also it will cause some dumbass to say "doesn't everyone like it a lil' warmer??".

Anyway, pointing to one specific weather event as proof either for or against climate change is pretty pointless. You have to draw your conclusions from looking long-term patterns and on the basis of a lot more data than what the weather happens to be in some airport in Alaska right now.. I'm no scientist but I'm scientific-minded enough to know that..

Yeah, people could do with learning that climate and weather are two different things.

"Global Warming" is a term for the manner in which the average temperature of the Earth has been consistently increasing. It does not mean that everywhere is going to be hotter all the time, that's just silly.

Yes.

El Nino=Climate Change
La Nina=Weather

Any evidence that it was hotter than usual on any day anywhere=Global Warming
Any evidence that is was cooler planet-wide=Weather

Any evidence that any activity by any man anywhere that causes a hotter than usual day anywhere=Proof of global warming
Any evidence that sunspot activity correlates with the temperature on the planet=bogus

Please stop trying to insult my intelligence by telling my global warming is solely man-made and that big yellow blob in the sky that keeps the earth warm has absolutely positively nothing to do with it.  You and Joe Biden are simply mistaken.

I'll stop insulting your intelligence when you show me that you have a basic understanding of science. From the post of yours that I quoted, it's clear that you don't. Weather and climate are different things; that's just a fact. Weather is the current activity in an atmospheric region; climate is the average conditions over a long period of time. Weather is supposed to change frequently and unpredictably; climate is not.

What I posted is how global warming alarmists define weather and climate.  Anything that proves their theory is climate change.  Everything else is considered just weather.

this reminds me of the Inhofe argument against global warming:

Inhofe informed Gore that scientists are "radically at odds with your claims." Displaying a photograph of icicles in Buffalo, Inhofe demanded: "How come you guys never seem to notice it when it gets cold? . . . Where is global warming when you really need it?"

http://www.exxonsecrets.org/

The same guys who claim this kind of stuff (the same you claim right now) actually still argued 10 years ago that the ozone layer was not damaged. I would actually like to send them to Australia in summer for a bit of sunbathing...

In about 10 years, we all can be happy that we can attribute all the climate change to being man-made, since the medium temperature will be way higher than it would be, even with the cyclic temperature rise which may happen. But some people just won't listen.

Finally: Believe it or not, the Bible (at least the old testament) was actually written as a science/history book.
