Since Mock Parliament appears to be dead (Sad), I thought I'd start up something else. How about a game ased off a Communist state? It'll be based loosely off Al's City Hall model, since that appears to work just fine.

Any takers? I've got a rough idea so far, but nothing too concrete, so feel free to make suggestions.

Outline:

Central Committee: Composed of all players. Responsible for electing Politburo, Secretariat and General Secretary.
Presidium: Composed of all players. Repsonsible for electing Chairman.
Politburo: Responsible for legislation. Elected by Central Committee.
Secretariat: Elected by Central Committee. General Secretary must be member.
General Secretary: Elected by Central Committee. Must be member of Secretariat.
Premier: Appointed by General Secretary. Nominal Head of Government.
Chairman: Elected by Presidium. Nominal Head of State.
Cabinet: Appointed by General Secretary.

It looks more complicated at first glance than it is, especially since there will be a good deal of dual office-holding.

Happy to help with game development, probably a tad busy at this stage to play, though.

Because you don't have elections or anything like that to worry about, you could keep this quite minimalist.

Nice game there, Lewis. Not sure I quite fully understand it, though. Anyway, it might be hard to adapt.

Map coming soon. I'm thinking of making this an Eastern European nation, set about 1955 with the death of the first Communist leader. Obviously, the leader will wield a good deal less influence than IRL (otherwise it'd be no fun), but he (and the head of the political police) would be able to order assassinations. Russian influence will also play a role (size as of yet undetermined).
