Press Statement from President Abe Lincoln

The United States of America demands the return of George Davis to Union custody. We are open extraditing Davis as part of an overall diplomatic deal. However, we cannot under any circumstances condone this recent act of aggression.

Effective immediately, 1,000 more troops shall be deployed to the border (making the total U.S. military presence 16,000 strong). I'm also authorizing Secretary of War Stanton to create a U.S. border patrol (independent of the army) to assist the U.S. military in securing the border to prevent further incursions. The border patrol shall be comprised of citizen volunteers, members of state militias, and loyal Native American tribesmen. Our immediate goal is to have the U.S. border patrol at 2,000 strong in the coming days.

I still hope that the upcoming negotiations will yield peaceful results.

Mr. President,

I hope you did not give the order to send a mob of Confederates to capture George Davis as it destroyed one of the few chances we had with mending relations with the Union to prevent another war that will put us further in debt and the citizens to not want in either nation. Mr. President I hope we can find a solution for the traitor for both nations.

Mr. president,

I am really disappointed with the actions we took. Hopefully a joint resolution should be in the works. Our Military is not ready for another, especially with the Military bill still in Congress.

sincerely,

To President Lincoln, Davis, and the Governors of Kansas and Missouri,

There has been Yankee troops placed all along the border of our two countries, why? There is no need to protect there borders from a people who will only fight in self defense. The only reason can be to flex there muscles, a blatant sign of aggression coupled with the Norths threats against there own citizens who happen to disagree with them.
So let it be known that the State of Tahlequah is prepared to put 10,000 rifles in the field and 15,000 by next month. Yankees be warned, should 1 Yankee bullet strike any Southern soil, Kansas shall burn.

Sincerely
General Watie, Chief of the Cherokee

This is President Lincoln. I have a proposed solution to the George Davis debacle. First, George Davis shall return to the U.S. to stand trial in a Union court. After this trial is over, he shall be returned the Confederacy to stand trial in a Confederate court. After this trial is over, Davis will be executed in the CSA.

We are willing to allow Confederate military personnel to guard and escort Davis during his time in the US. However, any Confederate military personnel cannot be present during his trial in the U.S. Though once the trial is over, he shall be returned to his Confederate military escorts and sent back to the CSA.

Does the C.S. government accept this proposal?

Mr. Lincoln,
I am willing to agree to that. I just want Davis's body to be executed here in the South, not on your turf. I apologize for the raiding of your prison, and I can say that was not approved by me, and I have spoken to the leaders of it, and nothing more of that sort shall happen again. I hope we can still meet in the future. As to me putting troops along the border, it is only in an act of self defense, and when you retreat, we will retreat.

Sincerely,
President Davis

General Watie,
I understand your concern, it's mainly due to the fact that we are worried of a Yankee attack. Hopefully this won't happen, but if so, we must be prepared.

Sincerely,
President Davis

President Davis,

So long as George Davis can stand trial in the Union before his execution, I am perfectly willing to allow him to be executed in the South.

Mr. Lincoln,

I am willing to comply by your terms. Mr. Davis will be back on yourside within hours of me writing this letter. Would you still consider a possible meeting up there in the future?

Sincerely,
President Jefferson Davis

President Davis speaks to Congress and the Cabinet...
Today, I'm announcing that I will be forming a political party. Parties were bound to happen eventually here anyways. While the name could be subject to change, my thought was the Confederate Liberty Party. I ask for your support for our party in future elections, and please state whether or not you'd be interested in joining.

George Davis found guilty and returned to the South!
Former Attorney General George Davis has been found guilty of treason and illegally crossing the border from the CSA to the USA, a Yankee Court found today. He was sentenced to be hung, and was transported back to the Confederacy for his sentence to be carried out.

In a letter to somebody...

Today was a great day for our nation. The Union and CSA rebuilt a relation through an unlikely situation, but something that will put us on the course to a much quicker recovery then I thought. Soon brothers will be united again, as two different countrys, but no longer divided by war.
