I see you share Elizabeth May's views about Canadians being stupid.

Edmonton Centre stayed Tory. It was realistically the only Alberta riding the Grits had a chance in.

Bonnie Brown's trailing by 1300 votes! Couldn't happen to a nicer MP [/sarcasm]

Sue Barnes is trailing big time in London West.

Garth Turner got his comeupance in Halton. Crossing the floor to join the Grits, now destroyed by the Tories.

I guess we should all refer to him as Jimmy Ford! from now on if he manages to get elected.

Tim Uppal lost preselection against Mike Lake last election and threatened to leave the party and do all sorts of things. To calm him down, he was parachuted into Edmonton-Sherwood Park and won the nomination. James Ford worked for the Tories all his life in Edmonton and was understandably upset to lose the nomination to Tim Uppal, and is running as an independent and presently trailing by just 30 odd votes.

I hope Andre hangs on in Portneuf. He's presently 450-ish ahead.

Tories haven't held Thornhill since Mulroney's first election.

CBC called Edmonton-Strathcona a long time ago, but Linda Duncan has now come extremely close (within three points) with still 78 polls out. Maybe they know more than I do about what's out.

Like I said earlier, CBC are getting stupid with this early calling.

It's U of A in his Riding.

I don't suppose there are any election results maps out there for anyone wanting to look at the big picture?

Not a map, but shows seats and who held them last election:

Fantastic result in Thornhill. Peter Kent was a strong candidate. I wouldn't be surprised to see him in a Parliamentary Secretaryship.

Fantastic result in Thornhill. Peter Kent was a strong candidate. I wouldn't be surprised to see him in a Parliamentary Secretaryship.

One of the guys working on the Ottawa South campaign is from Thornhill. (Jewish, of course). He was very pissed at the results there.

Overall, terrible result for us in Ottawa South. Ugh... I didn't think it was possible to do worse than the 2007 provincial election. At least we beat the arrogant prick running for the Green Party.

As for Ottawa Centre, where I voted... hip hip hurrah!

From what I hear, it was the Jewish vote that handed it to the Conservatives there.

Btw, didn't the Liberals do better in Calgary than in Edmonton at the last provincial election (in seats only I think. Or was it in votes only? Whatever.)

That's because Stelmach's an idiot who is unpopular in Calgary, not because Calgary necessarily favours the Liberals, but rather because they disfavour the Tory Premier.

Canadian elections are so depressing. 4 left of center parties against 1 right of center party in a FPTP system is fail.

I know it's sad, but how bad can Canadian conservatives be?

Speaking as a right winger, the Canadian conservatives are pretty moderate from my perspective.

Looks like Angus Reid was pretty accurate in their polling:

Hope it's Ignatieff. More likely will be Kennedy or Trudeau.

My money would be on Trudeau... although he's first-term, I still think he's the best bet. Ignatieff doesn't connect well with ordinary voters. Kennedy probably doesn't have enough party support to get it, although I could be wrong. So long as the traitorous Bob Rae doesn't get it.
