IMO, one of the greater Republicans.  Anyone targeted and attacked by tailgunner Joe has got to be a great person.

Of course, her "Declaration of Conscience" should be required reading for any office holder.  As to specific legislation, she was an early champion of equal pay for the sexes in the military.

Much as I admire Olympia Snowe, it's a pretty close call if ask me who Maine's greatest female Senator was!

The Declaration of Conscience takes the cake for me, but she was overall a great Senator, and we need more Republicans like her.

She was one of those that had the balls to take the fight to Commie Man. A great woman!

Her opposition to Nixon's racist SCOTUS nominees.

Still wouldn't have voted for her, though. Tongue

She took some heat, unfortunately and unecessarily, for using a scooter to amble around the Capitol building during her last term.  She was aging, but hardly a fossil.  And she lived well into her 90's.

I hope she has been honored on a stamp, at least.  The woman was truly great.
