If Shays looses and Shea-Porter holds on, chances are there won't be any Republican House members from NE. W/ likely losses in NY factored in, we are going to be staring at something like 4 or 5 Republicans out of 51 House members in NY-NE (only one of them outside upstate NY). This comes close to regional annihilation. Local Republicans may be wise to reevaluate their relationship to the national party: unless they credibly establish a regional autonomy within the party, they might have to struggle for the role of the second party in the near future.

Maybe Shays will finally lose this year.  And like previously mentioned, there would be no Republican House members in all of New England.

Good numbers for Obama ...

I don´t know why they poll the presidential numbers in a few congressional races, but not in some others ...

Obama should carry Himes in.  He 'should' do, anyway.

Shouldn't Kerry have carried Shays out?  Shouldn't Gore have carried Shays out?  Shouldn't Clinton have carried Shays out?

None of them carried the district by the margin Obama will.

It's sad that people are so stupid to vote out a guy who was begging for regulating fannie and freddie in 2005 in favor of the party that blocked it. The GOP needs leadership and we have none.

It is. Chris has ads out right now talking about it, and yet, people still dont care. I hate when good politicians get pushed out of office because of coattails, no matter if they are republican or democrat.

Yes. For being the most moderate member of Congress in some rankings, he's pretty batsh**t crazy.
