I actually hope these internet based polls do get sorted out so they work.

They are obviously much cheaper to do, and offer the possibility of huge samples, useful subgroup results, etc.

The Harris Interactive internet poll in 2000 was absolutely dead on.  I don't know if they just got lucky or what, but I do think the internet is at least part of the future of polling.
