Bush loses more support than Kerry does when Nader is in the race in that poll?

Something smells fishy there.

Not really.  The independent spirit of Minnesota means that Leadership is a real issue there.  People might just be voting for Bush because he is a better leader than Kerry and then jumping to Nader, because they feel he is a better leader.

The Minneapolis Star Tribune reported this morning that Kerry was up by 9 on Bush. A poll done by the infamous Minnesota Poll.

Kerry 50%

Bush 41%

8% no opinion

1% other

I question the validity of this because it is the same poll that had Kerry up by 12 in March. It's the same poll that said just 2 days before the 2000 election that Gore was ahead by 10% in Minnesota and then on election day Gore only won the state by 2.4%. This is the same poll that said Coleman was down by 6 or 7 points to Mondale 3 days before the election in the 2002 Senate Race while the St.Paul Pioneer Press had Coleman ahead by 5. Result Coleman won the election. This was the same poll that didn't give Jesse Ventura a chance at winning the governship. They never saw it coming. Ventura ended up winning.  This poll and paper are notoriously known for being off in their polling. So I don't give much validity to it. It wouldn't surprise me about the gallop poll result. Bush is coming here tomorrow and is going to be visiting 3 different towns. I would say Minnesota is pretty close at this time. It is a state that is up for grabs in my opinion.
