Obama - 56
McCain - 32

This Chicago Tribune Poll is based on interviews with 500 confirmed registered voters in Illinois likely to vote in the November 4 general election. Interviewing began the day after the final presidential debate, Thursday evening October 16, and ended on Saturday, October 18. The potential margin of error for a sample of this size is +/- 4.4% at the 95% level of confidence.

Confirmed registered voters?  Really?  That's pretty hardcore.

Wild guess:  Confirmed means they said so.

(Or maybe it was a random phone sample from the voter registration rolls.  Is that legal?)

Chicago Tribune polling historically sucks.  Just FYI.

Obama will win Illinois big, but probably not go above 60%.  My prediction:

ILLINOIS PRESIDENT -
59% (D) Obama
40% (R) McCain
