By a vote of 29-22, the city council removed term limits

I'm still perplexed as to why everyone seems to think Bloomberg will coast to victory when the idea of removing term limits seems so unpopular he wouldn't send it to the voters.  Anyway, he has my endorsement as this is NYC so it isn't going to get any better

And you're a fucking asshole. How about you try actually contributing something to a debate at some point, or are you too busy kissing Rick Santorum's ass?

It all depends on how much the story stays in the news, DWTL.

Naturally, I will not be voting for anyone who voted for this power-grab, in any office.

My position is clear:  I oppose term limits, but any changes or eliminations of the present scheme must go through the voters.  I would approve a third term, if given such a choice.

What I find is appalling is really the argument against it.  It seems from the coverage I am watching on the news is that the people who opposed it were mad and said that was somehow racism and denying African-Americans the right to be mayor.  Absurdity

I agree with Spade that it depends on much this stays in the voters mind, smart move by Bloomberg to do it now instead of next year.

If he wins this might be unprecedent from the Democrats to lose this many times in a city that votes 80%+ Democrat nationally

I fthis means less term limits, it's fine, I guess. But Bloomberg is still an HP. This opportunism doesn't surprise me one bit.

I'm not sure if this new tendency to appeal to the apparent inherent evil of Xahar in all things even remotely related to forum policing or this damn game is especially helpful.
