No, interestingly enough. Well I suppose technically I didn't when my family lived on the Rez because we didn't actually live in Ft. Yates proper but rather a federal government district that had about three times as many people as Ft. Yates proper. On the other hand the county government was also located in said district as was the city hall and library (Ft. Yates proper is nothing but a trailer park.)

Bismarck, ND, Fargo, ND, Mankato, MN and Minneapolis, MN are all county seats.

I would have to find out where exactly.  I lived there the first 2 years of my life, and not since. Smiley

Same for me & Los Angeles. I was born in Santa Monica, lived in Los Angeles until I was three, & then moved up here. Smiley

For the first 10 years I lived in a county seat for all but 1 year (5 out of 6 residences, 4 different county seats). For the next 40 years I have not lived in a county seat except for part of 2 years (1 out of 9 residences).

I only did when I was in college.

I've only ever lived in Middlesex County, but in two states. Once I got jury duty notices from both counties in the same week.

I don't think I actually ever lived in a county seat.. I know I lived in Fairfield County all my life, but the county is just for population reasons.. we have no County government or anything, if that counts.

Monongahela is not the County seat of Washington, so for most of my life the answer is no.

The only time in my life that I have lived in a county seat would be the two years I spent at Rutgers living in New Brunswick.

I've never lived in a county seat.

I've lived my whole life in unincorporated Barrow County, GA.

And here at college, Louisiana doesn't have county seats since they're called parishes Tongue

Semantically though I wouldn't even call New Orleans the parish seat of Orleans Parish as they have exactly the same borders. The city is not so much the seat as it is the entire parish.

I lived in one county seat for the first half year of my life, Seattle.  No other place is a county seat.

Well by that retard definition I've never lived in a county district circuit (to be etymologically correct) seat either. Tongue

Yes. The first 5 years of my life were spent in various suburbs. Now I'm in a suburb that pretends it's a big city and has been the seat for over 150 years.

Never lived in one, except for the 4 years of college in New Orleans.  And like a previous poster said, the entire city makes up the county, so that's not saying much.

Encino and Sherman Oaks are not separate cities, and in fact are part of the city of Los Angeles, which is a County seat.  Smiley  I grew up in Encino largely. You are kind of following me around,  Ronnie. Tongue

Come to think of it, the only time I have not lived in a county seat is now, in Laguna Niguel. Chicago and Ann Arbor were county seats, along with Encino and well, Bel Air, Westwood, and Silverlake, all neighborhoods in Los Angeles.
