University of California,Irvine.

The precinct numbers? I would guess about 84-13 Obama and will probably be the most democratic precinct in OC. Yet we are considered one of the most conservative UC schools. LOL

UCI and UCSD are conservative relative to other UC's and it may have to do with things like lack of late night partying, drug use, drinking, etc.

Than again... its those Asians.

Actually the amount of drug use here is amazing. I would have thought people don't touch weed here in conservative OC but nope. I know stoners who are hardcore republicans...weird.And of course Newport beach is full of rich cokeheads. I think we are more conservative in the sense that we are more pro-business and don't have stupid protests over bullsh**t like Berkeley or Santa cruz do.

Lack of hippie culture as well.

Yeah basically.

College actually trended me towards the right.

N.C. State - I would guess it's about evenly split, maybe a slight edge to Obama.

I'll make a prediction if someone can find the 2004 results for Somerville, MA, Ward 6, Precinct 3 and Medford, MA, Ward 4, Precinct 1 (Tufts University, split across towns). Somerville 6-3 is not entirely Tufts, however, although I think Medford 4-1 is.

Jake, long time no see man.

Did you settle on Loyola?

Mount St. Mary's. Better financial aid, less cool location-wise, but not bad.

Congrats on finishing school though. That's awesome.

I am only 14, so I ain't in college.

I presume almost every college will go heavily for Obama, young adults in college usually trend that way, it is kinda creepy too.

When I was in college I was a dues-paying, card-carrying member of the Massachusetts Revolutionary Worker's Party, and by the end of the 1992 primaries I loathed Clinton because I genuinely thought he was far too conservative for my tastes, and I figured he would drag the party rightward.  But by the time I was 40 I was a registered Republican.

No kidding.

"He who when young is not a Liberal, has no heart.  He who when old is not a Conservative, has no head."

Or, if you prefer the Jewish version:  "He who when young is not a Liberal, has no heart.  He who when old is not a Conservative, has no money."

Anyway, don't take it too seriously.  Have fun.  You're only young once.  Your classmates will get it straight once they start having more than two coins to rub together in their pockets, and start experiencing property taxes, income taxes, and lower back pain.

By the way, I was right about Clinton.  Smiley

I was associated with some Communist group (RCP, USA) and had some negative reactions to it.

Haha yeah that'll do it. Most democrats in California are much more centrist though..regarding economic policies that is. I could care less how socially liberal someone is.

And there you have it. Smiley

I know one, but he's a Cuban-robot from Cuban-land.  Now, my school is too small to have its own precinct, but I imagine we're going to go at least 80% for Obama, and probably pushing 90%.  I know of two people who are voting for McCain, but I don't really talk about politics with people so these are just those who push politics on mailing lists or in the newspaper.

ooh! I went to Tufts. I'll take it:

Obama 87%
McCain 10%
Other 3%

Note: undergraduate only. Grad students will probably be significantly more Republican, but will still overwhelmingly vote Obama.

Moody Bible Institute, Chicago

85% McCain
15% Obama

Interestingly, if this were 2004, it would be 98% to 2%.  But Evangelicals are coming along slowly...and Moody is attracting more minority students than back when I attended.

Of course, I also attended Columbia College in Chicago.  And that would be...

92% Obama
4% McKinney
2% Nader
1% Socialist
1% McCain

I'm extremely indifferent on social issues to the point where I can accept both Generic D and Generic R.

If this was a consumption function (haha).

f(D,R) = D + R.

Kerry got about 2/3 in 2004 so I am guessing that Obama will do a bit better.
