ya know..regardless of the national numbers..which seem very strange...

all we need is Iowa, Colorado and New Mexico....and then we've won the election...and even Virginia looks like it's remaining in our column...I don't like the tracking polls...but I'm having trouble seeing how McCain should win this anymore.

This race will come down to Pennsylvania. If Obama wins the state, he wins the election. I don't care what the national polls say. Obama is winning New Mexico, Colorado and Iowa. He just needs Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania.

I have no reason to believe that PA is anywhere near flipping to McCain...

Even with a strong Bradley Effect there, which I'm not even sure will happen....seems highly unlikely.

again, these state polls point to McCain being down 8-10 nationally.  Something is not adding up.

not necessarily.  CO and VA may very well play better for Obama than the national average.

I always thought state polling is more difficult to get right then national polls, and I think (could be wrong) Vorlon discussed this during the last election.

So, I really ignore state polls unless they are from good firms like Rasmussen, Mason Dixon, or some of the firms that specialize in their state like the Ohio Dispatch.  If you look at the state polls from these firms, they do seem to indicate an Obama lead of around 4 points.

McCain might suck, but not nearly so much as CNN/Time polls...

CNN has such poor polls. I can't buy Virginia being O +9, and I think it will be much closer on election day. But it will take a while for the state polls to reflect the tightening nation ones.

I think there will be a Bradley Effect, reasonably high, in PA.  I still think Obama carries PA.

CNN has been about D+3 compared to most polls this cycle, plus their admitted MOE, as well as the un-admitted MOE induced by (everyone's) less-than-perfect methodology, and...

Basically the poll just confirms that Obama is leading in VA, but doesn't say much else.
