it was absolutely horrible.  i watched like 5 minutes of it before i felt like vomiting on the floor.

more of this 'woe is me...i cant fill my gas tank blah blah blah'  i have enough (real) financial problems than to listen to some middle class white person whine about their situation and telling me how obama is going to save them.

id rather watch the shamwow infomerical.

Apparently 26.3 million people watched it, as opposed to 11.6 million who watched Perot's little spiel in 1992.

The Baltimore market had the largest audience and Portland had the smallest. etc etc..

They reported on TV that it was at least 30.5 million.  Roughly 1 in 5 households.

I guessed that 27.5 million would. I was pretty damn close!

The real question is, how many watched it from beginning to end?

Apparently 26.3 million people watched it, as opposed to 11.6 million who watched Perot's little speil in 1992.

Considering Perot's was on only one network and financed it out of his own pocket (and was actually informative), his 11.6 million 16 years ago is pretty damn impressive.

It's a lot harder to get big audiences today because there are so many more channels and options for entertainment. Still, having the nomination of one of the major parties doesn't hurt.

The 26.3 million figure only includes NBC, CBS and Fox. It doesn't include the other networks like MSNBC, BET, and Univision that also ran it.

The total figure will be out later today.

Yeah, I'm sure Clinton's would have been completely different.

Did anyone see Michael Goldfarb national spokesperson for John McCain get owned by Rick Sanchez on CNN today.  A youtube video will probably follow.

CBS says it was 33.5 million. That's just nuts.

It was shallow and a rehash of all the usual and very good Obama talking points.  The production values were great and the testimonials were effective.  But content-wise, there was nothing of real substance.

That said, I have to LOL -- and I mean loud -- when Republicans call it shallow, touchy-feelie, lacking substance, etc.

If Ronald Reagan had run the same info-mercial, they'd be wiping away tears and talking about how "It's morning in America again". And it would be the same superficial pablum...just with old Dutch's winsome, smiling face.

Folks, this is just politics in America.  I don't like it but there it is.

That's something like 28% of the number of people who voted in 2004.

Word.  I think he could've some more substance in without it getting dry and boring, though.
