Rasmussen has, consistently, shown the most Republican results here.  Their last result was a tie, around the same days SUSA said Merkley +5, R2K said +6, and the simultaneously godawful and Republican-leaning Riley Research said +1.

+3 is obviously a much closer result than recent polling, but it follows the clear pattern:  Unless there's some huge poll trickery going on here, Merkley will win.

I thought Smith was on life support. What happened?

The last poll was from PPP, a Democratic pollster.  I think Smith will lose by about 5 here, which is a shame, because there's really no reason for voters to oust him here aside from the highly unfavorable climate.

Also he doesn't represent their political views as well as his challenger.
