This is sick.  Just sick.  John McCain is an American hero, tortured because of his loyalty to this country and his fellow POWs. 

Isn't it enough to us to point out his truly awful policy positions and ideas?  We don't need to savage the man's honorable military record.

See, I don't have a ton of sympathy for someone who bombed people from an airplane but at the same time, I don't think many people care what he did once he was in captivity. He did what he needed to in order to perserve his life, which is trhe same thing 98% would have done.
