He says that any company wanting to build new coal power plants will find it expensive because of proposed new greenhouse gas emission charges. Sounds fine to me, no sane person thinks you can slow and stop global warming by continuing to use existing technologies to produce energy, and why do we need to build new coal power plants in any case?

Is this still his policy position, or has it been watered down during the campaign? The world neds strong leadership from the US in dealing with the global warming crisis.

What's the big deal? It's the same position McCain has on coal! Seriously, if Obama was going to be so bad for the coal industry, why are they running ads asking people to vote and running clips of both candidates espousing the same views on clean coal technology?

Cry me a river.

The Gop was going to take Hillary apart had they got the chance.

Much as I admire Senator Clinton, you're right.  Perhaps the biggest joke of this entire campaign has been the feigned Republican enthusiasm and affection for Hillary Clinton.

You know that McCain supported Lieberman-Warner at least until he became the Republican nominee, right?  He continues to support a cap-and-trade system, too.

So,

1. there is a tape thats been freely available since january, but the republicans and fox claim it has just surfaced
2. in the tape Obama says he supports clean coal and emissions taxes, but the republicans and fox claim he says he wants to bankrupt the coal industry.
3. it turns out McCain has the exact same position as Obama and has spoken on the senate floor in the same manner as Obama.

oh this is all so saddeningly familiar. What happened to real political debate in this country?

Here's a video showing what Mccain said then and what Fox is saying now..

So how exactly are the "left wing media and Obama" complete jokes here? Looks like Fox and the Republican party are the ones being dishonest hacks here.
