Hillary Clinton made such a tough and determined effort to win the Democratic Presidential nomination, and very nearly pulled it off.

How must Hillary be feeling and what must she be thinking on this, the eve of what looks like  a Democratic win of major proportions?

What does she wish she had done differently, if anything?

Proud that her candidate is set to win.

Or annoyed it's not her.

She's thinking about 2012, if she's wise.

She can swing them all her way by fighting to seat the Florida and Michigan delegations.

I am not that much of a cynic

I think she is thinking about what she can do in the Senate with a big majority and with a President that owes her big. I think Hillary may look to Edward Kennedy as a model and may see herself becoming the 'lioness' of the Senate

Yes, it's going to be bittersweet, but she's looking ahead to the big accomplishments she thinks Obama can get with the Senate and how she can play a major role in shaping them. Also, sizing up the new Senators to see who she can take under her wing.

Right now she's probably looking into the cost of botox and maybe a bit of nip and tuck.  Gotta look fresh for 2016.

She may be running to be the oldest elected president ever, but she'll still be younger than McCain is now.  Also, women typically live longer than men.

She is probably sick to her stomach and can't wait to pull the lever for McCain.  When she lost the primary despite getting more votes, she lost her one and only chance to become president.

Probably jealous that she wasn't the nominee, but reassuring herself that she will have a good chance at 2012.

Jealous that she can't draw a crowd of almost 100,000 supporters at the very last rally of a campaign in Northern Virginia Tongue

but seriously, shes probably glad its almost over.

Dude, do you think anyone was thinking of Ted Kennedy for 1980 right before or right after Carter's victory? This is coming from someone very skeptical of the idea of Hillary in 2012, by the way.

Ted Kennedy wasn't defeated by Carter in 1976.

What does that mean? Hillary can pull the "I tried to warn you" card.

Her senate seat is up in 2012.  If there is not good four years, even NY could be a problem.  Ever hear of Al D'amato?

younger than McCain is this time around.  the phrase that you might be looking for is "too irrelevant," or something similar in spirit.

She may be running to be the oldest elected president ever....

On election day 2016, she'd be several months younger than Reagan was on election day 1980.

Well, she will be 3 years younger than McCain is now, and women live longer than men. It helps her that Biden will be too old.
