I got to the polls about 5:30am (30 minutes before they opened), and strangely enough stood in line with my nextdoor neighbors.  There were about 40 people in front of us, so I knew I'd be able to meet up with my carpool folks in time.  Once the doors opened, it took 20 minutes to enter the building, check-in, vote, and exit.  There was one additional voting machine compared to last time, so that made a big difference.

There were no politickers from any of the campaigns in front of the polling place like usual.  I guess they didn't have any thing else to say after the past two years.  On the way into work over at Crystal City, McCain backers were in full force at every corner.  Many people waving signs for McCain, and there was even a guy dressed up in an Elephant costume dancing around.  hahaha . . . I wish I had my camera for that one.

Got in line at 5:50, voted at 6:55. The only campaign person around was one woman halfheartedly passing out Will Sessoms for Mayor literature.

Mrs. M3 and I were in line at 6:40AM.......yes there was a line.  By the time we came out the parking lot at the fire hall was full and so were the adjoining businesses and the lines were snaked around the lot.

Of course the polls are staffed with lil old ladies who are so f'ing slow it's unreal, but who the hell else is gonna volunteer besides old people?

Anyway I'm glad I voted and no matter who wins I'm glad it's over today.

Left the house at 6:25 am, got to the precinct at 6:30 am.  Stood in line for 30 minutes waiting for the polls to open at 7:00 am, was out of the precinct at 7:10 am and back home by 7:15 am.  When I walked out of the precinct, the line was wrapped around almost back to the street.

All times Central.

Cast my ballot for Barack Obama for President, Democrat Andrew Rice for Senate, and Republican Mary Fallin for CD-5.  Fallin was my only Republican this year.

this was my first time voting.  i was right in assuming the lines wouldn't be too bad, i had to wait just about 10 minutes or so to vote.

i felt slightly awkward signing my name and party affiliation (or lack of) on the paper before I could vote, that didn't seem very private to me.  :S

Nope. Smiley

I walked right in, they checked my name off the list, and I walked right into the voting booth. There were only two booths as this is a relatively small precinct, but there were absolutely no lines.

I imagine that will change in the next few hours, however. It has the potential to get ugly.

I walked to the polls and arrived at 7:00, opening time. There was a line comparable to 2004. I voted at around 7:40 AM and was the 77th person to turn in my ballot in my precinct. There were about 125 people behind me either filling out their ballots (optical scan) or in line. I think Kerry won 85% in this precinct but I'm not going to go check.

Well, I'm at work now and for the next couple of hours.
Off to see MGMT play a gig later tonight.
I should be staying up all night as the results come in and hopefully see Sen Obama declared President (which should make a very acceptable birthday present to me from the American electorate Smiley).
I've taken tomorrow off work so will probably spend quite a bit of it catching up on sleep.

Arrived at the polls at 7:45 after doing some morning lit dropping downtown (woke up at five am!). Waited outside for forty five minutes and then inside for five before actually voting. So, fifty minute wait in all.

Voted Obama for president, Landrieu for Senate, King for judgewhatever, Capitelli for DA- made up my mind in the booth for that one- and also voted Helena Moreno for US House. I hate the woman but there's no way I couldn't vote against Bill Jefferson.

Got a kick out of seeing BrandonH's name on the ballot as a Constitution party elector.

Edit- also, I was voter number 210.

just got back from voting.  no line at all.  i was the 436th person to vote.

my ballot:

president: barack obama
senate: john kerry
house: ed markey

'no' on question one which would abolish the state income tax
'yes' on question two which pretty much de-criminalizes less than one ounce of marijuana
'no' on question three which would ban greyhound racing.

LOL!  dude, that's one messed up ballot

I voted straight Republican...there were no state-wide referendums, so it was one click and I was done.

Voted no problem.  Quick and easy.  Old folks were out in strength today.  Didn't see too many 18-30.

Same here...my sister and I were probably the youngest people there, absent a few cute 20-something chicks. I walked in, signed my name, got my card, waited about 40 seconds for a booth to open, and voted. Straight Republican ticket. I also voted for the Issue 6 Casino in Ohio.

No early voting...no huge lines...no significant youth turnout...just average voting day.

I rode my bike to the polls at 11AM to check in for which there was no line.  I signed the voter log and received my ticket to vote after showing my Ohio Driver's License.  Then I waited for about 20 minutes to use the touch-screen machine.  I voted mostly Democratic with a few exceptions down the ballot.  On statewide issues I voted in favor of an earlier deadline for ballot initiatives, I voted for a state bond issue to help keep the environment clean, I voted for the protection of ground water and waterfront rights for property owners, I voted for increased restrictions on payday lenders, and I voted against a casino monopoly in Southwest Ohio.

Also, my Representative to the Ohio House (who I voted to re-elect) was about 10 people ahead of me in line!  So that was pretty exciting to see him.  Also, the mayor of my town was greeting people as they came in.

There were 5 voting machines at my polling location and the line was about 20-25 people long.  Everyone seemed to be in a rather festive mood and a poll worker who was handing out "I voted" stickers was also reminding everyone to get their free coffee at Starbucks.

Walked to the town hall which i can see from my house went in got checked to see if i was registered then was told i could choose between a thouch screen or paper ballot i took a paper ballot and went to the voting booth.

voted Nader for president voted against my congressman whos been in office for over thirty years the rest of the ballot only had unopposed candidates then i voted yes on the referendum that tells the legislature to enact health care as good as state legislators and officials for every resident of wisconsin by the end of 2009 though im pretty sure thats non binding then put the ballot in the thing and went home i think i was 89th person to vote.
