Why is this necessary. In any event, the state is the epitome of a failed state. It produces next to nothing. It's a basket case.

I agree. Somalia is a failed state.

Somaliland is a peaceful, multi-party democracy with a functioning government and a people who desire their own state.

Without international recognition and the access that it provides to bilateral and multilateral development finance, Somaliland's government will continue to be hamstrung and unable to develop its economic infrasturcture.

Recognition is conferred by the executive.

By what Atlasian constitutional article, statute or legal precedent did you come to this conclusion?
