With 82% precincts reporting, Merkley has a very small lead (2,500 votes). But the remaning precincts are all in the deep blue parts of the state, so it looks very likely that Merkley will win by a few percent overall:

Out of all the new Democratic Senators, I'm most excited about Jeff Merkley and Tom Udall. From what I've read, Merkley is very progressive and got a lot a lot of significant legislation passed in the Oregon State House.

I'm least excited about my own state's Jeanne Shaheen. She's not going to be the brightest bulb in Washington, but her voting record will at least be significantly better than John Sununu.

I was cheering on Gordon Smith, and donated quite a bit of cash to his campaign.  It's very sad to see him go. Sad

I'm quite surprised actually.  I was expecting a big win in Alaska and quite frankly an Oregon loss.

NBC calls it, and Gordon Smith concedes. Yay! Grin

This is an excellent result - we get Merkely, and they get the embarrassing Stevens (we also probably don't get Franken).  If we can only get one of the three, this is the one I'd definitely choose.

I like Merkley fine and would have voted for him.  But I am sad to see Smith go, too.  An intelligent man, he had the right stance on stem cell research and took a thoughtful approach to the Iraq War...though he did and does support it.

Too bad for Senator Smith, it looks like he will not be serving with his second cousins, the Udalls.

Smith's concession speech was painfully difficult to watch. Sad

That damn spoiler should go to hell.

Or Smith shouldn't have flip flopped on basically everything (and this is coming from a Smith fan, by the way).

That would have been quite funny had it come to pass.

It'll make the next Udall family reunion pretty awkward.
