Between 2008 and 2040 a third world war breaks out between the United States (US), the European Federation (EF), the Russian Federation (RF), and the People's Republic of China (PRC). The war breaks out around 2023 as the Republic of China (ROC) tried to break the good ties it had established with the PRC. The PRC looks down on this as an attempt by the US President Kelly Ming (R) to overthrow the communist government of her parents homeland by taking over the ROC. So, on April 10, 2023 the PRC invades the ROC with 500,000 soldiers. The next day the ROC is taken over by the PRC and the US starts to mount an attack but waits further aggression by the PRC. The PRC sees that the US does nothing but give a statement about the situation as a sign that they will not stop them. So, on May 14, 2023 the PRC invades the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), three days latter the PRC has complete control of the DPRK. Now the US sees that the PRC is starting to get more aggressive, and sends 400,000 more troops to the Republic of Korea as a way to dissolve the PRC's aggression. This does stop the PRC's push to the east but decides to instead go north and south, with the invasions of Mongolia, Vietnam, Laos, and Myanmar. Now the world takes notice of the PRC and decides to try and stop the PRC's aggression. The RF on the other hand, lead by President Peter Krukov (UR), decides to join with the PRC in order to prevent an invasion of the RF. With the PRC backing the RF decides to retake her former soviet satellites. The EF, lead by President Gina Pryce (EPP), is the first to declare war on the RF on August 26, 2023 when the RF invades it's Baltic states and the following day against the PRC. The US decides to join the fight and declares war against the PRC and the RF on January 1, 2024. The war goes back and forth for a long six years with the US and the EF coming out on top. During that time President Kelly Ming (R) is not reelected, nor are some Republicans in Congress, with the declaration of war on the RF and the PRC. In the 2024 election, Senator Andrew Curry of California (D) wins by a landslide over President Kelly Ming (R). President Andrew Curry (D) wins again in 2028 over Utah Governor Greg Warren (R) and New York City Governor Autumn Ellis (I). After WWIII, the PRC becomes the United States of China with the PRC and ROC becoming one, and the RF is forced to pay the damages caused by the war in Europe. Vice-President Vanessa Cunningham (D) is elected as President in 2032 beating out Senator John Branch of Washington (R), Alabama Governor Lydia Edwards (I), and Florida Governor Jack Locke (I) in a close election in which each nominee received at least 10% of the popular vote in what was the biggest turn out of voters in US history. President Vanessa Cunningham (D) decides not to run for a second term given battle with breast cancer. So, in 2036 Nevada Governor Bruce Warren (R), brother to Greg Warren (R), wins the election over Vice-President Eva Simmons (D) and Illinois Governor John Justema (Progressive).

This sets up the 2040 election, in which President Bruce Warren (R) is hailed as a mastermind by keeping the US out of the worlds worst recession since 2008-09 as the election nears, but their are signs that the recession just might hit the US. The Democratic hopefuls push that the recession is near by Senator Mike Britton of Texas, Senator Nevil Knotts of Georgia, and Colorado Governor Tanya Yang. Senator Mike Britton wins a close primary over Governor Tanya Yang with the hopes of carrying Texas. The young Progressive Parties battle for their nominee is between two time Indiana Governor Kyle Myers, Senator John Ross of New York, Representative Natasha Reeser of California, and Hawaii Governor Lauren Whigan. Governor Kyle Myers wins a close race over Representative Natasha Reeser, given Governor Kyle Myers military experience of 20 years, including WWIII, and his eight years experience as Governor.

President Bruce Warren (R) is the favored nominee to win until August comes around and the recession hits the US. Then Senator Mike Britton (D) became the favored to win with his plan to change how the US would do business with the rest of the world in order to prevent another recession, though President Bruce Warren (R) warns that we can't prevent recessions and both lose ground to Governor Kyle Myers (P) who pushes for progressivism, federalism, nationalism, reindustrialization, non-interventionism, and social democracy. President Bruce Warren's (R) Vice-President decides not to rerun for his position, and Bruce selects his brother Greg Warren (R) Senator of Utah. Senator Mike Britton (D) selects Senator Nevil Knotts of Georgia (D) as his running mate in order to pick up the southern states vote. Governor Kyle Myers selects California Governor Vanessa Hall (P) as his running mate as a way to carry the biggest state in the union.

Now you must decide who has the best chance to win in 2040
-Warren/Warren (R)
-Britton/Knotts (D)
-Myers/Hall (P)
