Hilarious. Giving half decent medical care to our wounded vets is not our government's concern. There's no money for that. But giving billions of dollars to corrupt and irresponsible millionaires is "for the good of the economy."

A company is about to go under. The government gives them free money. They spend the money unwisely.

Who the hell is surprised?

Let AIG go under, make sure their insurance policies are sold to solvent insurers. and there you go, problem solved

Reinsurance typically covers 90% of the value of most policies.

So then the gov't ought to give some aid covering the extra 10% to any company willing to take on AIG's loans, rather than just giving this failed company more and more.

Actually, the bailout was to give AIG money for parties and bonuses.
