I don't think it'd necessarily need to be legislation.  IRL Senators don't vote on the medal of honor.  Simply a formal request to the president might be sufficient (I don't know if he has that power).  Maybe we could simply have the president issue an official congratulation our great moderators Smiley

Due to the slow rate at which my bills have been introduced and recent RPP gains in the Senate, I intend to run for re-election.

Well, one of my bills was tabled, but we can hopefully pass the rest of them.

Well I thought that one was simply unworkable but  I am confident that we will be able to work out compromises on quite a few of the remainder SPC.  This Senate will hopefully prove quite productive. Cheesy

I wasn't intending to insult you, and sorry if you took it that way. I was just giving a status report on the fate of my reforms.

Not at all.  I'm just saying that hopefully whichever ones I don't totally agree with we will be able to compromise on.

Well even if none of them pass, I'm glad you are trying.

I suspect "compromises" will be reached on most of them.

Not to speak too soon, but it looks like the bill to repeal the bill to pay for people's condoms has a good chance of passing. Hopefully the Vice-President supports it.

I seriously doubt it will pass the senate, but Meeker is another matter. Only time will tell...

It's currently at 4-5-1, with Smid yet to vote. I wouldn't dismiss the possiblity of it passing the Senate.

I propose that you propose a bill to restrict trade with China. I believe that we are losing many domestic jobs because we are importing goods from China. We need to protect our fragile domestic markets. I can write up an official bill if you would like.

I can propose it, but I can't say I'll support it.

Don't worry now. Thank you for your offer, but I have already gotten Senator Franzl to propose it for me.

Concession Speech

Well, I've served four months in the Senate, and it looks like the voters won't be giving me another four. I think I've served enough for now, and I suppose I deserve this for my half-assed campaigning. After my Senate term empires, I will be going on hiatus for a couple months, for a much needed break. Thank you and Dave Bless Atlasia.

There is still an hour left in the election, anything can still happen.

It's clear that only one RPP candidate is going to win, and I'd rather have DWTL win.

But you would still have to do some maneuvering if you stay in and are elected. A lot is still up in the air.

For what it's worth, SPC, though you weren't my top-choice candidate obviously, I did think that you made a valuable contribution to the Senate last term, and, if one of the RPP Senators had to be elected, I hoped that it would be you. Of course the election isn't over yet, and I hope that, if you are put over the top into the 5th place, you accept the victory.

I would have to beat DWTL by >1 vote for it to be beyond my control, which I doubt will happen since DWTL is currently beating me.

But I like you better!

Well, I need a break from Atlasia.
