Found this from Meeker:

Troll Banishment Act

With the unanimous agreement of the Atlasian Senate and the President, an Atlasian considered a "troll" may be banished from Atlasia. They are not allowed to vote or participate in Atlasia in any way, shape or form.

Ahah, I don't ask that you propose that bill.

I'd like a debate on Meeker's anti-Troll suggestion found in the protest thread. I don't like it as-is, but it'd be nice to find a way to systematically exclude trolls from the system -- sure they could post, but if they can't vote, testify, etc on this board. then they might be discouraged from the forum overall on a larger scale, improving the quality of life for everyone Smiley

edit: wow, I was typing that before you brought that up in the post before me

That would not work, they I would continue to post just not on this board.

Fixed.

A.  That would still be a net gain

B.  Trolls feed off of their own ability to influence the system.  Removing part of that aspect of it coud castrate that influence

Fair Trade Restoration Act

1.  Six months after the passage of this legislation, Atlasia will withdraw from all free trade acts and agreements that it currently belongs to.
2.  No free trade act or agreement shall be passed for 18 months after this legislation is passed.

We need a review of our trade agreements, but Section 1 is a bit much and Section 2 is completely draconian.

Then it can be amended in the Senate.

I think this Free Trade Regulation bill should be shot down outright.

I agree, but the Fair Trade Restoration Act should be passed.

I wonder if there's any way we could speed this up

PPT's discretion.

But naturally. You never see it used though. Sad

Well, SPC

ASAP

ASAP

APAP

But I would propose debate on it first.  I do not want senators starting threads about people they don't like trying to muster the support they want to get people banned.  The initial debate probably should occur in private, this is very important.

well it's your initial [joke] suggestion and I'm trying to have it be debated since I think there are internal merits to it.

Hell, I think there are internal merits to it simply being debated, even if it isn't passed

I was just commenting that SPC can't introduce it yet because he isn't a Senator yet.

If I decide to seek the PPT (which looks likely), I will make the Troll Banishment thing emergency legislation.  The troll problem certainly qualifies as an emergency

No such thing has happened, since I placed a bill that would allow other senators' legislation to move ahead of mine ahead of my other legislation.

You would have to make a line between trolls and non-trolls. I have been a non-troll in my recent incarnation, but everyone only remembers my trollsmanship from before. What gives?

You are still a troll. Go away.

I'm glad to see some anti-troll legislation.Fantasy elections may attract more trolls than other sections, but if definitely doesn't need them. (Nor does any other section need them.)

Anyone complaining about SPC introducing a lot of legislation, look for ebowed's legislation in Jan. 2007. Something like 5 pieces before he actually swore in. And most if not all was bad legislation at that.

Me too. Next time I would like to see anti-troll legislation that is less than completely useless.

Assuming it wouldn't delay anything, what are your thoughts on petitioning the president for medals of honor [or equivalent] to be given to both Gustaf and MasterJedi for their unexpected heroism and outstanding commitment to Atlasia's security and wellbeing?

I wuld be supportive of such a measure and will likely introduce it in a week or so. I think I've broken my limit for legislation introduction.
