I know it's late but...

Endorsed!

I plan on giving you my first preference.

So this guy is a liar.

Note, "plan to". Jas entered the race late.

As Jas almost surely won't win, it was a symbolic vote. I essentially gave SPC first preference, though. If I thought Jas had a chance SPC would be the first preference.

This. The news has slowed down of late with all the publishers running for office. Let's get the presses running again.

Congratulations from me, SPC, despite your loss. You made it a terribly close race....and I was almost sure you'd beat me at several points. Thanks for making it interesting Smiley

Thanks, Franzl. Smiley I suppose that was my karma for last December's election. You really took me by surprise.

Well if history shows anything, we'll have at least opening in the senate before the four months are up.  While I am the obvious candidate for an open seat, I'd step aside if SPC wanted it

I think I'm retiring from electoral politics for now.

Well that's I'm doing for now too, but I don't know how many more oppurtunities I can pass up.  I've had an itching to get involve regionally, but without the assembly for now there is a logjam

Hello fellow Dirty Southerners,

For competition's sake, I am jumping into the race for Senate. I believe it's time that NCYankee had someone other than GPorter run against him.

I can tell my constituents that I would have never voted for any "stimulus" bill to waste taxpayers' money.

The Senate's been rather dull lately, filled with a bunch of "me too" establishment figures. Your return to the Senate could be just what we need.

The stimulus that, according to the GM's reports, was incredibly successful?

How many votes did you miss again in the last five? two? Tongue

I can tell my constituents that I would have never voted for any "stimulus" bill to waste taxpayers' money.

I challenge your assertion that is was a "waste" of money.  Even if it was, it was my fervent opposition to certain clauses that led to the neutering of protectionist language, and the removal of a complete nationalization of the auto industry. Had I not provided that rhetorical opposition, it is likely that bill would have been passed "as is" and there is no way that I could have been so effective at murdering those sections, if I wasn't willing to vote AYE on the final product once amended.

The problem with the idea of a GM is that it's not an accurate reflection of reality. In reality, the President doesn't invest one person with the power to be the sole determiner of all economic success or failure. It's equivalent to having a Fantasy Senate deciding to push someone off a building and then have the GM determine whether they fell or levitated, without concern for thw laws of Physics.

Considering the region I'm running in, Joe Miller would be a more accurate analogy.
